Surprise Hank Williams’ covers album “Why Should We Try Anymore”
Hey folks,
It’s another Bandcamp Friday! (artists get 100% of the revenue) and I’ve release a surprise digital-only/Bandcamp-only album called “Why Should We Try Anymore”. Consisting of my versions of 13 songs written by one of my favourite singer-songwriters, Hank Williams Sr. It was recorded on my 1982 Tascam 4-track cassette recorder, it’s lo-fi sound adding to how personal this music is to me. Hank was my grandfather’s favourite artist, I grew up hearing his music constantly. As a young teenager and young songwriter, I rediscovered Williams’ music and it became a huge influence in my writing, which it still is. Nobody writes a heartache song like Hank does. The sketch that I used for the cover was found in an old Hank LP that I have. I thought it was a perfect choice!
