It’s a fun month for us, tonight we play our last Wednesday at The Cameron House. We’re on at 10, followed by our special guest, Matt Cooke at 11 and The wild and wonderful Del Fi’s close the night. Like to thank everyone who has come out to the shows, our special guests, The Cameron, hopefully we’ll do it again soon. This is the beginning of what will be a very busy year, with the new album coming out this spring and everything that will be happening around that. I’ll keep you posted.

Latent Recordings has also posted another video for their “Latent Uncovers” series. This time we’re playing the title track from Mavis Staples’ album ‘You Are Not Alone’, a song written and produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco. I think it’s one of the best songs he’s written.

Tonight we continue our Wednesdays in January at The Cameron House – front room. We go on at 10, our special guest Angie Hilts (who also sings on a few tunes on the upcoming record) is on at 11, followed by the out of control rock ‘n’ roll of The Del Fi’s! Hope to see you.

When I was 10 or 11 I got my first Bowie album ‘Space Oddity’ ’cause I knew the title track. Ended up loving the whole record and things went from there. This is a tune from that album that I also used to cover when I first started playing live at a coffee shop down the street from my house called Grabba Jabba. “Janine” is one of the songs that we’ve performed as part of Latent Recordings series Latent Uncovers. It’s been a year since we’ve lost David Bowie, still doesn’t seem real. We’ll also play it tomorrow night during our set for our Wednesday residency at The Cameron House. We go on at 10, followed by Ben Somer at 11 and The Del Fi’s close the night.

The band and I recently filmed some covers for Latent Recordings series “Latent Uncovers”. Here’s us performing a tune from Leonard Cohen’s album ‘Various Positions’. He’s been one of my favourites ever since I was a kid when my Dad came home from A Goodwill trip with “Songs of Leonard Cohen” and the poetry book “Death Of A Lady’s Man”.  Video filmed by Mitch Fillion at Southern Souls at Cowboy Junkies studio, audio by Michael Timmins.
